The coin is unique in its engraving, in the letter "A" of the word "KANGAROO". Engravings serves as an authentication feature, visible only through a microscope or a very strong magnifying glass.
Obverse: The obverse of the coin features a new design depiction of Queen Elizabeth II (Australia has a constitutional monarchy whereby Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is also Queen of Australia).
