Obverse: The obverse of the coin depicts the her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (a constitutional monarchy in Canada, under which Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is also a Canadian monarch). In the top of the coin are inscribed the queen's name "ELIZABETH II", and in the bottom the denomination and the year of the coin "50 DOLLARS".
