About the coin: This is the new design of the Vatican's 50 cent euro coin since the introduction of the euro (2002) on which the image of the Pontiff is gone. Pope Francis, who is also called the "Poverty of the Poor" and has repeatedly expressed his views on the negative monetary power and impact on man, has refused to be depicted on money; therefore, the Vatican's euro coins will only depict the Pontifical emblem since 2017.
