Obverse: the front shows the Goddess of Liberty, with a floral wreath in her hair. The profile of the motive shows to the unusual left. Below the motive, a five-pointed star can be seen. The star is a central element of the Chilean coat of arms. The year of issue is at the bottom of the coin and the words "Republica de Chile" are imprinted above the motive.
Reverse: the Chilean coat of arms is the motif of the back. In the center, it shows a shield with a star. An Andean Stag is pictured on the left side of the shield and on the right side of the shield an Andean Condor is depicted. Above the shield, three springs can be seen. The inscription reads "Cien Pesos" and "100 Ps Diez Condores".
About the coin: 100 Pesos gold coins have a fineness of 900/1000. The alloy consists of 90% gold and 10% copper. The copper content provides good scratch resistance since copper unlike gold is a harder metal. With a fine weight of 18.30g, the coin is slightly heavier than half an ounce (15.55g). Chilean Pesos 100 gold coins have an edge bar and a rippled edge. On both sides, an ornamental circle is imprinted around the edge bar.
