Obverse: the obverse of the coin depicts a snake coiled between grass and bamboo shoots, with the words 'Year of the Snake' engraved on the bottom of the coin, and the word 'snake' engraved above the snake in Chinese characters. The letter 'P' is struck on the left-hand side of the coin to denote the Perth Mint, Australia's national mint.
Reverse: the reverse of the coin depicts Queen Elizabeth II, who is also the Monarch of Australia. The words 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' are engraved on the top of the coin and the weight, fineness, precious metal name and denomination '1/20 oz 9999 GOLD 2013 5 DOLLARS' on the bottom.
Packaging: Each coin is packaged in a hard plastic capsule.
