Each year this coin changes its design, only in 2002 did the design remains unchanged and was used in 2001. This coin is struck at three mints in China, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Shenyang. However, unlike the practice of mints in other countries, these coins do not bear mintmarks. Instead, the different mints make minor design differences between the coins they strike, such as the size of the font, the size of the bamboo forest and the minimal differences in the design of the Temple of Paradise.
