Obverse: portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The name of the country 'TOKELAU' and the year of minting '1991' are on the top.
Reverse: depicts United States warships under attack by Japanese aircraft. The outer ring is embossed with the minted information issuing the occasion 'PEARL HARBOR', 'DECEMBER 7th 1941' (the coin commemorates the 50th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The reverse of the silver coin also shows its denomination '$50'.
