Obverse: the obverse of the coin depicts a human figure seated on a horse, surrounded by a crowd. The words 'DER KÖNIG RIEF UND ALLE ALLE KAMEN' are engraved on the top. The phrase 'MIT GOTT-FÜR KÖNIG UND VATERLAND' and the date '17-3-1813' are embossed on the bottom of the coin.
Reverse: the reverse of the coin shows an eagle with a snake in its talons. The upper part of the coin bears the country of origin and the year 'DEUTSCHES REICH 1913'. The denomination 'ZWEI MARK' (English: two marks) appears at the bottom.
