Reverse: the reverse of the coin depicts the dancing antelope, which is exclusively found in southern and south-western Africa. The word 'KRUGERRAND' is engraved above the antelope and the year of minting, '20 22', is engraved on either side of the antelope. The bottom of the coin is also inscribed in Afrikaans and English with the weight of the coin and the gold weight 'FYNGOUD 1/10 OZ FINE GOLD'.
Obverse: the obverse of the coin depicts Paul Kruger, the fifth President of the Republic of South Africa. The name of the country is engraved on both sides of the coin in Afrikaans and English 'SUID - AFRICA' and 'SOUTH - AFRICA'.
About the coin: the Krugerrand gold coin is the world's first modern numismatic investment coin, first minted in 1967. More than 60 million Krugerrand gold coins have been minted to date and it is the most popular investment gold coin of all time, recognised by investors and collectors worldwide. It is virtually the only gold coin deliberately minted without a denomination, leaving its value to be determined by the world price of gold on the stock exchange. The South African Krugerrand gold coin has a purity of 22 carats, which means that it contains 22/24 = 91.67% pure gold in its mass, with the remaining 8.33% being copper, which gives it its distinctive reddish hue. The gold-copper alloy also gives the coin its durability and hardness, making it much more resistant to scratches and other possible damage. The South African Krugerrand gold coin has become a symbol of gold investment, wealth, wealth and international prestige.
