Reverse: shows a man plowing a field with two horses – a symbol of hard work, agriculture and Finland’s rural heritage. The face value 50 MARKKAA is engraved at the top. The reverse was also designed by Nina Terno.
About the coin: this 50 markkaa silver coin was issued in 1981 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Urho Kekkonen’s presidency and his 80th birthday. It was struck by the Mint of Finland (Suomen Rahapaja). Composed of .500 silver and .500 copper, the coin contains 10 g of pure silver out of its total weight of 20 g. It is appreciated by collectors for its historical significance and high-quality minting.
