Obverse: the center features the double-headed eagle of the Russian Empire holding the Imperial Sceptre and Orb beneath the Imperial Crown. The eagle's breast bears the Moscow coat of arms depicting Saint George, while the wings display the coats of arms of the Empire's principal territories. Around the rim is the inscription: “Б. М. НИКОЛАЙ I ИМП. И САМОД. ВСЕРОСС.” (“By the Grace of God, Nicholas I, Emperor and Autocrat of All Russia”).
Reverse: the center bears the denomination "МОНЕТА РУБЛЬ" ("Ruble Coin"), with the year of issue and the Saint Petersburg Mint mark "С.П.Б." below. The design is surrounded by a wreath of laurel and oak branches, topped with the Imperial Crown.
About the coin: the silver 1 Ruble was minted during the reign of Emperor Nicholas I (1825–1855). It was struck in .868 fine silver, weighs 20.73 g, contains 18.0 g of pure silver, and measures approximately 35.5 mm in diameter. Most examples were produced at the Saint Petersburg Mint. Nicholas I rubles are highly regarded for their excellent craftsmanship, the classic Russian Imperial coat of arms, and their historical significance. They served as the principal silver circulating coin of the Russian Empire and remain among the most sought-after Imperial Russian coins today.
