Obverse: the obverse of the coin depicts a Shoebill bird with a baby in the nest. The right side of the coin depicts the African continent. Around of the Shoebill are minted words "AFRICAN OUNCE" also pure silver weigth in coin and the year of minting "1 oz FINE SILVER 999 2019".
Reverse: the reverse of the coin depicts the national coat of arms of Rwanda around it engraved words "BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA" at the bottom of the coin denomination "AMAFRANGA 50 MIRONGO ITANU".
