Obverse: the coin depicts a sailing ship and a fortress in the centre of the obverse. The name of the fortress is engraved in the centre of the coin in two languages 'SUOMENLINNA' and 'SVEABORG'. The year of foundation of the fortress and the year of issue of the coin '1748-1998' are also indicated.
Reverse: the reverse shows stylised ornaments in the centre. The name of the country 'SUOMI FINLAND' and the year of issue '1998' are embossed on the left-hand side of the coin and the denomination '100 MK' on the right-hand side.
About the coin: this is a silver coin of 100 MK issued in 1998 in Finland to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Suomenlinna Fortress. The coin was struck at the Suomen Rahapaja (Finnish Mint) in Vantaa.
