Obverse: The centre of the coin features the coat of arms of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen – a crowned shield bearing a diagonally positioned key, symbolising the city's patron saint, St Peter. The coat of arms is supported by two lions standing on their hind legs. The surrounding inscription reads “FREIE HANSESTADT BREMEN”, meaning “Free Hanseatic City of Bremen”. The letter “J”, the mint mark of the Hamburg Mint, appears at the bottom.

Reverse: The centre depicts the crowned imperial eagle of the German Empire with outstretched wings and a heraldic shield on its chest. The upper part bears the inscription “DEUTSCHES REICH” and the year of issue “1907”, while the lower part displays the face value “10 MARK”. Decorative ornaments and stars complete the composition.

About the coin: Issued in 1907, this 10-mark gold coin belongs to the German Empire period (1871–1918) and represents the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. It is the only Bremen 10-mark gold coin issued during the German Empire. The coin was struck at the Hamburg Mint, identified by the letter “J”. Made from .900 fine gold, it weighs 3.982 g, contains approximately 3.584 g of pure gold, and has a diameter of 19.5 mm. With a mintage of just 20,006 pieces, it is considered one of the rarer 10-mark gold coins of the German Empire. Bremen, renowned for centuries as an important European trading and maritime centre, retained the right to issue coins featuring its own heraldic symbols. Today, this coin is valued not only for its gold content but also for its historical and numismatic significance.
