Obverse: In the center of the coin stylized portray the Elysee Treaty signatories (the Federal Republic of Germany Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and French President Charles de Gaulle), portraits and signatures. It also minted the words "50 ANS JAHRE", coins engraved in the center of the coin mintage year 2013, in the top of the coin is minted words "TRAITÉ DE L’ÉLYSÉE" (Elysee Treaty), and at the bottom, the same words in French "ÉLYSÉE-VERTRAG". In the coin little below German Chancellor portrait also minted a letter of the one of Germany coin mint A, D, F, G or J and the issuing country first letter "D" (Deutschland). Coins ring superimposed twelve stars of the European Union.
