Obverse: The obverse features the most iconic comic characters created by Miki Muster – Zvitorepec, Trdonja and Lakotnik. The design, created by Robert Žvokelj, highlights the distinctive traits of each character: Trdonja’s stubbornness, Zvitorepec’s cunning nature and Lakotnik’s insatiable appetite. The obverse also includes the inscription SLOVENIJA, the year 2025 and a reference to the 100th anniversary of Miki Muster’s birth.
Reverse: The reverse follows the standard design used on all 2-euro coins: a map of Western Europe positioned on the right side of the coin and spanning both the inner core and outer ring. The inscription 2 EURO appears above the map, while the numeral 2 is set against the Atlantic Ocean. The outer ring contains 12 stars placed on either side of the map, connected visually by vertical lines linking the upper and lower stars.
About the coin: This commemorative 2-euro coin, issued in 2025, marks the 100th anniversary of Slovenian comic artist, illustrator and animator Miki Muster. It will enter circulation and numismatic sale on 26 November 2025. The coin is minted in BU and proof qualities, with a purchase limit applied to the proof version.
