About the item: This is a historical map from the early 18th century (circa 1701–1720), created by German cartographers Christopher Weigel and David Kohler – “Pannonia, Moesia, Dacia cum Illyrico”, published in Nuremberg in the work Descriptio Orbis Antiquii. It is executed using copper engraving technique and features original hand coloring, wide margins, and detailed representation of ancient geography. The map depicts the ancient Roman provinces – Pannonia, Moesia, Dacia, and Illyricum, covering the territories of present-day Romania, Bulgaria, the Balkans, and the Black Sea region.
The map measures approximately 23 × 18 cm. Condition is very good, with preserved original coloring and a clear impression. Such original 18th-century editions are valued by collectors for their historical, geographical, and artistic significance.
