Obverse: “CCCP” depicts the country of coin’s origin and surrounds the national coat of arms. It consists of a hammer and sickle on the globe, amongst two wreaths of emmer wheat. A pentagonal star soars at the top of the coin. The bottom of the coin depicts the coin’s denomination “100 РУБЛЕЙ” (eng. 100 rubles).
Reverse: “Druzhba” stadium centers in the middle of the coin. Besides a year of coin’s production “1979” is engraved. The inscription above means the occasion the coin was made for “ИГРЫ XXII ОЛИМПИАДЫ” (eng. 22-nd Olympic games). Also known as the 1980 Summer Olympics of Moscow as it is engraved at the bottom “МОСКВА 1980” (eng. Moscow 1980).
