Obverse: the legendary comic strip character Tintin is depicted on the right-hand side of the obverse. The portrait of Georges Rémi, the creator of the comic strip, is also engraved on the left-hand side, together with his signature at the bottom.
Reverse: the reverse of the coin shows the denomination '10 EURO', the year of issue '2007' and the inscription 'CENTENAIRE D'HERGÉ'.

Georges Remi's comic strip 'The Adventures of Tintin' was a huge success, producing 24 comic albums which were widely distributed in magazines and adapted for film, radio, television and theatre. The comic book series is one of the most popular in Europe in the 20th century. The Adventures of Tintin has been translated into more than 80 languages and sold more than 350 million copies.
