Obverse: the obverse of the medal depicts the Mannerheim Cross. This is the most distinguished Finnish military honour. The word "MANNERHEIM-RISTIN" is engraved at the top of the medal. On the right side, next to the cross, the number "191" is the number of soldiers to whom this order was assigned. The words "RITARIT" are engraved on the bottom of the medal.
Reverse: the reverse of the medal depicts the flag and the lion of the Finnish coat of arms. The words "SUOMI TAISTELI" are engraved at the top. At the bottom, the year of World War II is "1939-1945."
