Obverse: “CCCP” depicts the country of coin’s origin and surrounds the national coat of arms. It consists of a hammer and sickle on the globe, amongst two wreaths of emmer wheat. Coin’s denomination is minted beneath “100 РУБЛЕЙ” (eng. 100 rubles).
Reverse: depicts the occasion the coin was minted for “ИГРЫ XXII ОЛИМПИАДЫ • МОСКВА • 1980” (eng. 22nd Olympic games of Moscow 1980). Beneath minters engraved the year of the coin's production. In the middle, there is a stylized world with only circles of latitude and longitude and a bench.
About the coin: made in 1979 to mark the upcoming Moscow Olympics in Summer 1980. This coin comes from the series of several 100 Ruble denominations that were released for this occasion.
