Obverse: The obverse of this coin depicts a part of the painting "The Apparition of St. Marino". This painting hangs in the famous San Marino Parliament building and was painted by the artist Emilio Retrosi in 1894. The coin depicts a part of a picture in which Saint Marino holds an open book in his left hand. The Latin text ‘Relingue vos liberos utroque ab homine’ (translation from latin “I leave you free from all other humans) is written in the original picture, on the cover of the book, which is held by Saint Marino. These were the last words of St. Marino addressed to the people of San Marino, by which he wanted to give the inspiration for freedom to the people. The name of the country "San Marino" is visible on the left-hand side of the coin and the year 2020 is visible on the right-hand side of the front of the coin.
Reverse: The normal denomination of 50 euro cents.
