About the Set: this set of two silver coins, issued jointly by the Royal Canadian Mint and China Gold Coin Incorporation, honours Dr Norman Bethune, who was born in Gravenhurst, Ontario, in 1890 and served humanity in three wars. Bethune went to China in 1938 and became Surgeon General of the Eighth Route Army during the Sino-Japanese War.
