At the center, a gold-coloured sphere with a stylized Chinese ornament is set against a background featuring a stylized dragon inspired by the Nine Dragon Wall in Beijing. To the right, below the denomination, appears the country name “RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA”. The coin was designed by Robert Kotowicz.
Reverse: the center shows a gold-coloured sphere bearing a stylized logo of the Polish Olympic Committee against a background of water motifs. Above the sphere is a stylized image of an athlete swimming freestyle. Below are the inscriptions “POLSKA REPREZENTACJA OLIMPIJSKA”, “Pekin”, and “2008”. The designer is Robert Kotowicz.
